Close to the county town of Shrewsbury, the World Heritage Site Museums of Ironbridge and to medieval Ludlow, Bridgenorth is famed for its annual international food festival and is home to a bustling Saturday street market.
The High Street is dominated by the stilted Town Hall, a short walk from here are the crazily leaning castle ruins, and down below, the Severn river. A major attraction of the town is The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster and is home to steam and diesel locomotives that run though lovingly restored country stations. |
