Weather forecast for the next 5 days for Port Isaac, Cornwall
Port Isaac

If medical dramas / comedies are your thing then head down to the south west for ITVs Cornish series Doc Martin.

Set in the typically Cornish village of Port Isaac (or Portwen as viewers will know it) on Cornwall’s north coast. Port Isaac is a natural harbour and a conservation village in an area of the outstanding beauty of the National Trust Port Isaac has everything that Cornwall can offer, cobbled streets, pretty harbours, dramatic scenery and fishing trips and a lovely sandy beach. Indeed just over the headland is the village of Port Gaverne which has a small sandy beach exposed at low tide if you fancy a change.

Further afield, visit the surfers ‘paradise’ of Newquay or the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Or for those of us feeling a little more energetic why not hire a bicycle and cycle along the Camel trail from Padstow – Wadebridge – Bodmin.

Or why not just relax and watch the tide sea gently lap around the harbour whilst enjoying a pint of Tinners and some freshly caught local fish.

For a village which is being used as the backdrop for Doc Martin, and was used previously for filming Saving Grace, it still has all the charm and characteristics one hopes to encounter on a break.
