Boston

Boston's more famous American counterpart was actually named after this unassuming market town by Puritans who set sail for the New World of America.

Well worth a stop, Boston is a market town and still continues that tradition today, with market days on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Part of the drained marshland known as The Fens, Boston is very flat and was once a leading port.

The tallest working windmill in England - Maud Foster's Mill - gives a unique insightinto how flour is produced and on some days it's possible to climb up to the seventh floor while the mill gets on with the work. There's also a tea room  - a cuppa will be well deserved after all that climbing!

St Botolph's Church is a landmark also worth visiting - at 83 metres it's actually England's tallest parish church and the views from the top over Lincolnshire and the Wash are worth seeing.
