Just up the coast from Lands End is the community of Sennen Cove, which is split between an old village on the shore and a new village on the cliff tops.
For most visitors the primary reason for comming to Senne Cove must be the fabulous beach. The sandy beech is great for sports, such as bodyboarding and surfing, and for kids too. Sennen beach has a recently built cafe and resturant plus Surf Shop. Facilities exist in the area for learning to surf with BSA qualified instructors and hiring surf equipment.
There is limited parking down by the shore line, so visitors with less to carry would be advised to park at the large reasonably priced cliff top car park. From the car park you can make your way down a cliff path or the road to the village within 5 minutes.
As a bonus take you binoculars; occasionally Basking Sharks, the largest fish in Cornish waters can be seen in the Cove's bay area.
Further into the village you'll find the Old Success Inn, which dates back to the 17th Century, and serves a wide selection of refeshments and meals from a traditional cornish ale to a full evening meal.
There is a selection of shops and art galleries, and eventually the RNLI Lifeboat Station, which houses both an inshore and offshore lifeboats. The Lifeboat Station was open for visitors whilst we were there and its well worth a look. Make a donation whilst you are there because you never know when you might use their services!
