St. Helier
St. Helier is the capital of Jersey and where most of the island's 85,000 population live.
Apart form being the main place for restaurants, hotels and nightlife, this is a working port and there's no better way to see it in action than getting up at the crack of dawn to watch the catches coming in and being sold at the Beresford Fish Market.
The Maritime Museum will fill you in on the history of the fishermen while the award winning Jersey Museum gives an insight into the heritage and culture of the island.

The Island Fortress Museum gives a fascinating insight into what  life was like during the Nazi occupation.

Fort Regent, where a fortification once stood, dominates the town but is now a leisure, conference and exhibition venue.
