Tucked away on the border between England and Wales are the magnificent Malvern Hills - a nine mile range which divides Herefordshire and Worcestershire
Twisting roads take you through the pretty spa town of Malvern to about half way up the hillside, where you can park. Then it's time to get on those walking boots and do some fairly steep walking to get to the top of the hills.
As soon as you reach the summit, you'll be bowled over by the views - on the one side Herefordshire and the other is Wales. The views are quite outstanding and it's not surprising this area was inspiration for English composer Edward Elgar.
If after all that climbing you are desperate for a cuppa and haven't brought a picnic then head for the Kettle Sings, a delightful tea room with stunning views over to the Black Mountains.
It's a surprisingly busy place, with walkers, cyclists and sightseers all enjoying the views and on a windy day being on top of the world blows away all the cobwebs.
The nearby Three Counties Showground, just outside Great Malvern, is where many of the area's big events happen including the Spring Garden Show and the traditional Three Counties Show.
