Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove was once a prosperous centre for the woollen industry but became more famous for a new kind of craft - making nails.

This nail industry lasted from the 17th until the end of the 19th century but declined when machines took over.
The population has grown to 86,000 and with part of the Longbridge car plant in the district, it's a popular place for people to live, especially with links to the M5 and M42.

Nearby is Avoncroft Museum, which has a collection of historic buildings on display including a windmill and 1940s prefab. There's lots of events held throughout the year which bring history of the buildings to life.
