    Harrogate is historically one of England's spa towns - a spring discovered here in 1571 was said to have medicinal qualities.
    An elegant town, the Pump Rooms have been refurbished and are the place to find out about the spa history as well as taste some of the magical water. 

    There are also the splendid Turkish Baths, where you can enjoy a shower, a trip to the steam room and if you dare, try the plunge pool. There's also three hot chambers to try, reaching temperatures of up to a sweltering 220 degrees farenheit! 

    The town was particular popular in Victorian times and the evidence is all around in the buildings with cast iron canopies. Harroagte is also particulalry proud of its' reputation as a floral town, so you'll notice baskets and colourful floral displays everywhere.
