The Yorkshire Wolds stretches from the Humber estuary to the north coast, just short of Scarborough.
In this rolling countryside there's the opportunity for plenty of walking or cycling along various routes including the popular Wolds Way, which is one of Britain's nine national trails.
The northern half of the route is quite isolated, especially from Pocklington to Wintringham but there are other sections which are nearer villages and towns. Tourist information offices can advise on the best routes for the most dramatic views.
