    The seaside resort of Whitley Bay is Newcastle's coastal resort, where people come for a Bank Holiday day trip to relax on the beach.  
    In recent years there have been attempts to bring the resort into the 21st century, with re-development of the town centre.
    The main landmark is St. Mary's Lighthouse, which has stood guard over the town for more than 100 years. 
    Bring back the memories with a trip to the Childhood Memories Toy Museum - where there's 4,000 toys dating from the 1890s to the 1960s.
