Matlock is a small town with ample shops, ideal for storing up on provisions and fuel.
It was once noted for its many hydros and although none of them are in use today, some buildings
still remain.
The public transport links to Matlock are good with both a British Rail terminus station with
trains running to Derby, and a Peak Rail station to Darley Dale.
