Derbyshire: Eyam and Surrounding Area
Eyam is most famous for an outbreak of the plague that was brought from London is a parcel of cloth sent to a local tailor. The disease swept thought the village during 1665-66 wiping out a huge number of the inhabitants. There remain signs on cottages and the church in the village relating to the events of the plague to this day.
Nearby attractions include Eyam Hall and the Eyam Museum.
