On the banks of the River Ribble, the modern Preston is now a busy and vibrant city. The old docks have been redeveloped as a marina and lesiure park and the pedestrianised town centre is good for shopping. Most notably it is home to Preston North End Football Club – Britains oldest football club and winners of the very first football league championship. The National Football Museum at Preston’s Deepdale Stadium houses an unparallelled collection of football memorabilia.
