    • Tarn Hows
    Tarn Hows is a small lagoon originally donated to the National Trust by Beatrix Potter.  It takes about an hour to walk around the tarn, but if you are lucky you might spot a few of the remaining red squirrels that live there.  Despite having been artificially created the Tarn is a SSSI site (Site of Special Scientific Interest).
