Dorking was a popular stop for pilgrims on their way from London to the Christian centre of Cambridge.
Situated right in the heart of Surrey,in Mole Valley the town was built on sand and no visit would be complete without a trip to the Dorking Caves. Over the years they have been used for everything from smuggling to storing beer.
They are opened to the general public twice a month - well worth the trip 75 feet undergound.
