This ancient village is home to an intriguing mix of historic and modern buildings. A highlight is the remains of the Brading Roman Villa renowned for its beautifully preserved mosaics and extensive collection of artifacts. The Isle of Wight Wax Museum in the centre of Brading is believed to be the oldest intact building on the island dating from around 1228. At the Old Town Hall next door you can see the original stocks and whipping post.
