The windswept Lundy Island is a fabulous place to really escape from the hustle and bustle of the coastal towns and villages. With no cars, one shop, one pub, and only a handful of residents, Lundy Island has become a haven for thousands of sea birds. The island is famous for its puffins that come on shore during April and May, but you can also see kittiwakes, fulmars, shags, shearwaters, and grey seals off the coast here. The only way to explore the island is by walking the numerous footpaths so put some good shoes on! Boats sail from Bideford, Ilfracombe and Clovelly to Lundy Island.
