The sheltered climate around Torquay have made the town the heart of the ‘English Riviera’. At night the palm trees and lighting around the busy harbour give the town a unique Mediterranean crossed with England feel. The main beach, Abbey Sands can be busy but there are other beaches nearby that are generally much quieter. Torquay has a lively night life and a good selection of shops and restaurants.
