Epping Forest
Epping Forest is an unexpected haven in Essex - 6,000 acres of woodland not that far from London.

Originally a royal hunting forest, the area is actually now owned by the City of London and well worth a visit.

Check out the visitor centre where there's plenty of information on walks, nature and outdoor activities to enjoy..

The nearby town of Epping, from which the forest takes its name, was created as a market town in the 13th century.
