Southend-on-Sea is essentially a seaside resort and another place whose most notable landmark is the century old pier. A must is a trip by train or foot along the two kilometre landmark, which is said to be the longest world.
For fun lovers there's the Golden Mile of amusement arcades and attractions including Never Never Land and Peter Pan's Adventure Land - which has loads of rides, chutes and amusements to keep kids of all ages entertained.
