Directions
By Air
The hotel is approximately 2 miles (3.5 km) from London Heathrow Airport. Taxis are readily available from just outside the airport, but these can be expensive and may not be familiar with the most direct route to the guest house. Because of this, the Oakwood Guest House recommends the taxi firm LHR Cars of West Drayton. Further details are available on request. Please contact the hotel directly for more information, either by using the comments field when making your reservation or by contacting the hotel directly, using the contact details supplied on your confirmation email.
By Bus:
The U3 bus runs to West Drayton every 12 minutes, from stand 18 at Heathrow Central bus station. Get off the U3 after passing The Green on the right and The Swan pub on the left, next to the Winchester Pharmacy, in Swan Road, West Drayton. Walk down Swan Road to the T-junction, with a Spar Supermarket to your left. Cross over and turn right into Station Road, towards Harmondsworth and Sipson. Walk past Harrolds’ Optician, then past 2 small Indian restaurants. Cross straight over Brandville Road and we are on your left, beyond silvery-grey shutters, just before the Six Bells Pub.
The guest house is easily accessible from Heathrow’s Terminal 5 with the number 350 local bus towards Hayes/Harlington, which you catch just outside T5. Get off the 350 bus at the (request) bus stop K - after the Fox & Pheasant pub on the right, and beyond St Martin's Vet Surgery, on the left - by the tiny West Drayton Library. Cross over Station Road and turn left. Walk past Bow Wows Dog Salon, a black Texaco garage and the Six Bells pub, and the guest house is just beyond the pub, on the left, before the silver-grey shutters.
By Train
From Paddington:
West Drayton’s train station is just 5 minutes’ walk from the guest house. Take a Thames train towards Reading, Oxford and Slough. There are 4 trains per hour mid-week and the journey time from Paddington station to West Drayton is approximately 25 minutes. From the station, turn left and left again under the railway bridge, then walk a few hundred yards past the fruit and vegetable shops, a Spar supermarket on the corner and then 2 small Indian restaurants on the left-hand side. The grey Lance Owen Vauxhall garage will be on your right. Cross straight over Brandville Road and the guest house is on the left-hand side, next to the silvery-grey shutters and just before the Six Bells pub.
If you leave the station via the back exit, walk straight ahead into Warwick Road for a short way and then bear right toward the gentlemen’s barbershop. Turn left at the corner into Station Road by the florist’s shop (Flowers by Ellisa) and opposite Threshers wine shop. You will then arrive at the Spar supermarket. From here, follow the above directions.
By Tube:
Take the blue Piccadilly Line all the way to the station for Heathrow terminals 1, 2 and 3. From Heathrow Underground station, you can either call LHR Cars of West Drayton to pick you up at the station or you can cross over to Heathrow bus station (beside the underground station) and get on a U3 bus at stand 18 to get to West Drayton.
