Highgate House

Our venue is a striking country mansion in the picturesque Northamptonshire village of Creaton. Originally a coaching inn, it has evolved into a superb venue for all kinds of events.

Its continued development has been careful to maintain the beauty of the original building, successfully combining 17th century charm with 21st century comfort. Highgate House is only a short distance from Northampton, The Historic Althorp House and the M1, M6 and A14. The historic, family atmosphere is strong throughout the estate, but is perhaps most noticeable in the rooms in and around the main house; each containing centuries of memories almost tangible to those within. Please note that the hotel has no lift. Not all accommodation is in the 17th century building, most is in modern extensions across from the property. As part of Sundial Group, Highgate House benefits from being able to provide unrivalled levels of customer service, attention to detail and food quality - honed to perfection over the last 40 years. Check-out is by 09:00 Monday to Friday and 10:30 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Directions

From the North (m1 or m6): Take the a14 exit (j19) (Kettering), where the motorways join. Leave the a14 at junction 1, signed for Leicester and the a5199. Take the a5199 south, towards Northampton, for 5 miles, through Thornby to Creaton. Highgate House is just off the a5199, on your left as you start to leave Creaton. From the East: Take the A14 towards the M1. Leave the A14 at junction 1, signed for Leicester and the A5199, and then head south, following the directions given above. From the South: (M1: Leave the M1 at junction 16 and follow the A45 towards Northampton. At the first roundabout (2 miles from the motorway) take the left turning towards New Duston. Follow this road (going straight on at the mini roundabout) for about 1.75 miles until you reach a T junction. Turn left, followed 100 yards later by a right turn. This will take you to another T junction where you again turn left. After 1mile, in Harlestone, take the right turn towards the Bramptons, with a sign saying Holdenby House Gardens. Continue for 2 miles; pass through Church Brampton and follow the one-way system round to the left. Turn left onto the A5199 and drive for 3 miles, passing through Spratton. As you come into Creaton, turn right into Grooms Lane, following signs to Highgate House reception and car park. From the West: Take the A43 towards Northampton. Join the M1 Northbound at junction 15a, and proceed about 2 miles to junction 16. Exit M1 at junction 16 and follow the instructions above. Alternatively, before it merges into the M1 South, the M6 joins the A14 so you can take this option and follow instructions from the North above. From the South-West: It is possible to use the M5 (North), M42 and M6 (South) to get to the A14 and, subsequently, Highgate House.
