Right in the heart of Docklands, with a spectacular waterfront setting, the Waterfront Brasserie is exactly what it says on the label, and more. The bright, sleek dining room features soaring windows with terrific views as well as decking for al fresco dining. The quote brasserie unquote menu is actually a very smart modern European carte with inventive and eclectic touches from just about everywhere. Starters include gorgonzola spring rolls with grilled bell peppers, oven-dried cherry tomatoes and baby gem lettuce. Mains feature complex creations like tulip of crab risotto with crispy veal sweetbreads with wild mushroom reduction and truffle-infused onions. The wines are well-partnered with the intense-flavoured dishes and we find that we never want to leave.
