For those who fancy a bit of fine English history, steep yourself in the friendly confines of The Wheatsheaf in leafy Surrey. This traditional country pub dates back to the early 1500's, and has been a traveller's retreat and local spot ever since. Keeping to theme, the menu eschews the modern world in favour of old fashioned British classics. Start with wild boar and redcurrant pate and move on to favourites like pan fried calves liver with Wiltshire bacon or one of The Wheatsheaf's steak selections, sourced from a local butcher and served with a choice of sauces. Lighter bites and lunches are also available, as are regular jazz performances.
