The Westerley is an amazing gourmet restaurant tucked away on the London Road in the old market town of Reigate in Surrey. The dining room, like the menu, is simple and sensational. Light wooden floors, elegant artwork and dark red banquettes give the restaurant a chic, bistro-style atmosphere. The menu from chef/restaurateur Jon Coombs, previously of the Stephen Lang Inn, is a foodie's dream. Favourites include home smoked salmon with an apple and fennel salad in a soured cream dressing, the authentic gazpacho and croquette of pig's head with sauce gribiche, which melts in your mouth. We must also mention The Westerley's puddings - the peanut butter cookies with malted chocolate ice cream and Amalfi lemon sorbet drizzled with limoncello alone make the 45 minute train journey from London well worth your while.
