The Watermill restaurant is in the Best Western Milford on the outskirts of Leeds, operated by an enthusiastic and efficient team of staff. With its central feature of a working waterwheel, the restaurant offers a daily-changing menu based on the freshest produce available that day. At lunch you might find that the starters include creamy celeriac soup with poppy seed croutons, while mains could be pan-fried bubble and squeak cakes topped with a lightly poached egg and béarnaise sauce. Evening meals are more elaborate and take you on a global tour: start in Italy with lemon marinated seafood salad with toasted ciabatta and roast garlic butter, then go Oriental with chilli-glazed pork belly with sweet and sour sauce, Chinese greens and noodles. Black treacle pudding with lemon sabayon and Black Sheep ale ice-cream brings you firmly and deliciously back to Britain.
