Two Stamford townhouses were painstakingly renovated to create The Voujon on Broad Street, a contemporary Indian restaurant set over three airy floors. The comfortable reception lounge and bar leads up to a romantic, exotic-coloured restaurant decorated with commissioned Indian art, and down to a lovely conservatory leading out onto a paved garden with an Indian bean tree, which lights up charmingly at night - a haven on warm evenings. Very mild passandas sell best of an extensive Indian/Bangladeshi menu. For something hotter, we like the murgh sobzi bahar (chicken or lamb), a Mumbai dish which arrives at the table sizzling.

Information for Groups

Private parties can be held in the bar, restaurant, conservatory or the decked garden it overlooks. A six-course set menu (rice, sides, coffee etc.) costs £17.50 per head. But you're welcome to name your budget and the kitchen will create something to suit. 20-bin international wine list, plus the usual Indian beers.
