Mallam's at the Quay restaurant on the waterfront in Weymouth enjoys longtime status as one of this town's favourite eateries. The intimate atmosphere in the smart, traditional dining rooms with their rose-coloured walls, white linens and gleaming crystal is enhanced by very attentive service. Fresh, local, seasonal produce is transformed into reinvented English dishes cooked to order. The wine list is an ever-evolving work of art with newly-discovered labels coming onstream all the time. Mallam's is set in an historic building just off Brewer's Quay with bay window overlooking the harbour. If you fall in love with the place, a sweet harbour-view holiday flat upstairs lets you stay the night. Gourmet breaks are available.

Mallam's at the Quay in Weymouth is an interesting location for your small dinner, club lunch, corporate meal or other party. There are two small dining rooms, which together seat 40 if you require exclusive hire of the restaurant. For smaller groups, the back dining room seats 16 and the front accommodates up to 25. Normally open for dinner only, private lunches are welcome.

- Smoked goat's cheese crumbed and shallow fried, served on a bed of dressed leaves accompanied by red onion marmalade
- Olive oil and rock salt char-grilled whole tiger prawns served with a sweet chilli dip. (supplement £2.95)
- A crisp filo basket filled with lightly curried minced pork, peanut and soy sauce mix served with a sweet chilli sauce
- Smoked salmon and gravadlax served simply with fresh lemon

- Fully trimmed rack of British lamb roasted and served on a bed of garlic and rosemary roasted artichokes, with a rowanberry, mint and red wine jus
- Breast of corn fed chicken stuffed with black olives, sun-dried tomatoes and cornichons, wrapped in Parma ham, roasted and served on a bed of mixed capsicum with a dry vermouth and fresh basil sauce
- A centre cut fillet of British beef cooked to your liking, glazed with Roquefort, served with red onion marmalade, and a rich port sauce
- Cod fillet topped with a dill and Parmesan crust on a bed of pickled samphire and served with a light wholegrain mustard and pink peppercorn sauce
- A medley of vegetables, asparagus, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and mushrooms served in a puff pastry shell with a thyme butter sauce
- Hampshire trout served whole, stuffed with lemon and herbs, roasted and served with a lemon and herb butter
