Indian Ocean is a cosy and laid-back curry house in Acomb. The unpretentious restaurant - with wooden furniture, low-lit lamps and lots of natural light - is family-friendly and ideal for get-togethers. The traditional menu at the Indian Ocean features authentic regional Indian curries such as the King Prawn Pathia - cooked with shredded onions, tomatoes and fresh lemon juice; sweet and sour Lamb Dansak, cooked with pink lentils and pineapple; and the Chicken Korma - a sweet, mild creamy curry cooked with coconut and almonds. The wine list is comprehensive and reasonably priced, with up to 27 bottles under £20.
