Gilby's, located close to Cardiff on the edge of the Vale of Glamorgan, is a charming restaurant set in a converted historical building surrounded by countryside that is picturesque all year round. Restaurateurs Michael Standerline and Xavier Le Bellego also run the successful Red House at Marsh Benham, and Forbury's in Reading. The menu features hearty British fare with a contemporary twist - we love the peppered honey glazed Gressingham duck breast with bubble & squeak, poached chestnuts, wild mushrooms and redcurrant sauce; the baked whole sea bass stuffed with citrus fruits and seasonal herbs; and the Gilby's special hot seafood platter for two with whole lobster, jumbo crevettes, oysters, scallops with foaming parsley butter, a bowl of moules mariniere and two glasses of champagne. Gilby's is ideal for small or large parties, romantic evening meals and business lunches.
With an impressive modern British menu and seating for up to 120 people in the main dining room, Gilby's is well equipped to cater for small or large parties or groups, business lunches, pre-theatre meals, afternoon tea, weddings and special occasions. The M4, airport, Cardiff Central Station and bus stations are all within easy reach by taxi.
