Spanish passion is everywhere in the Barcelona, from the vivid colours, to the intense flavours, to the attention to detail, to the happy hubbub of diners and drinkers giving themselves over to pleasure. There's a mad mosaic Gaudi-esque lizard over the Cava Bar, a terrific meeting and drinking space that features a winning selection of Spanish bubblies (nb: Happy Hour isn't called Hora Loca for nothing). Then the same sort of wandering mosaic path guides you downstairs to the large, cheerful dining room. Choose a zillion tapas and share them with mates, or pick carefully and respect Dr Atkins - either way you'll find dishes skillfully prepared and with a touch of sunny inspiration that will set your palate aglow. Try favourites like chorizo or paella or go for rarer Iberian ham or broad bean stew with black pudding. Wash it all down with lovely sangria or one of the brilliant wines from the all-Spanish list. Disco Thursday and Friday evenings.

Information for Groups

Light up your party with a colourful, vivid, lighthearted event at the Barcelona Tapas Bar & Restaurant. Conveniently located right in the City, Barcelona's Gaudi-inspired interiors will set the scene for not-your-usual-dull-do. There are brightly coloured walls and mosaics everywhere, just to remind you that the sun always shines in Spain. The Cava Bar holds up to 30 standing, and, with its mosaic lizard over the bar and unbeatable array of rare Spanish champagnes and Iberian wines, would be right for drinks parties, intimate launches, thank-you get-togethers, or mad birthdays. The downstairs restaurant, equally lit up with colours and artworks, accommodates up to 230, and would be perfect for a tapas buffet followed by a fiesta of dancing and fun. The menu is huge and encompasses not only familiar dishes like patatas bravas and chicken with garlic, but also more adventurous ones like pincho diablo or Catalan black rice with squid and pieces of fish. The wine list is excellent and the atmosphere couldn't be better.
