Our family of animals make the most of living at Thornton's Holt. The three cat helping out in reception, putting their dirty paws on the paperwork.... Pickle the Border Terrier is in charge of security - she enjoys peeking though the cat flap. One of her favourite people is the Postman - she always gets a biscuit when the Royal Mail comes!
This is Eric. He has lived at Thornton's Holt for 15 years so he thinks he's the Boss! He is very grumpy and loves to tell everyone else what to do.
The chickens rule the roost here at Thornton's Holt.
This Silky Cockrel thinks himself very big and handsome but he's just a little titch next to some of the other roosters!
Spike is the youngest member of the Thornton's Holt team.
He is very inquisitive and loves trying to annoy his Uncle Eric!
We encourage wild birds to make Thornton's Holt their home. These are Goldfinches tucking in on feeders next to our reception.
We regularly see Green Finches, Chaffinches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Long Tailed Tits, Field Fares, Wagtails, Robins, Wrens, Blackbirds and Yellow Hammers. Oh and don't forget the sparrows! Try to count them!
At night you can sometimes hear the local Barn Owls and Little Owls that nest on our neighbouring farms & the sharp eyed might spot bats swooping round.
If you are quiet you might see the sneeky moorhens & pheasants that live around the site.
