Amlwch on the North East coast of the Isle Of Anglesey is Wales' most northernly town.
The town grow on the influx of copper miners during the 18th century who worked the Parys Mountain. At one time the town was the second largest in Wales.
During the mining boom the harbour was extened to take larger ships and this gave Amlwch the chance to become a ship building town when the mining industry declined.
More recently Amlwch has celebrated it viking with the Amlwch Viking Festival. |
