Within easy reach of both Warwick and Kenilworth lies the fashionable and elegant town of Royal Leamington Spa. The Georgian and Victorian architecture combined with the tree-lined avenues, and glorious gardens make a visit to Leamington a unique experience.
The town also boasts a great reputation for shopping, ranging from small independently run shops to larger stores and boutiques selling designer labels.
The Royal Pump Rooms are well worth a visit, not only can you taste the spa water which made Leamington famous, but the building is now a cultural and tourism complex, housing the town's Museum, Art Gallery, Library and Tourist Information Centre. There are displays on the historic use of the Pump Rooms and Spa Treatments, including some rather strange objects from the former physiotherapy department.
Opposite the Royal Pump Rooms are the Jephson Gardens, the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. The gardens are being restored and revitalised after recent flooding and will soon have a new sensory garden, a temperate glasshouse, refurbished boathouse and children's play area. |
