Lichfield is dominated by the magnificent three spires of the cathedral and is particularly impressive when floodlit at night. The huge building gives the impression Lichfield should be much bigger.
Really, it's one of Staffordshire's more pleasant market towns, with an attractive pedestrianised central shopping area.
The stretch of water is actually Minster Pool and with the backdrop of the cathedral spire, this is a lovely area to enjoy a meal at one of the nearby restaurants or just watch the world go by. The town is compact and has many attractive buildings interspersed with the usual high street shops. |
