Lyme is a traditional but atmospheric seaside town that attracts back loyal visitors year after year. Sheltered between steep hills and the grey fossil cliffs the intimate feel of this little town is undeniable. The town itself is mixture of colourful cottages and elegant villas that spread along the sea front and surrouding streets. The focal point of the town is the long curving harbour wall of The Cobb, it’s a great place for fishing, or just watching the world go by. The beaches in this area are a great place to find fossils, in 1811 an almost complete 30 foot ichthyosaurus was found here.
