Measuring just nine miles by four, the Isle of Sheppey is separated from the rest of North Kent by the Kingsferry Bridge.
There are a number of small towns to explore including the seaside towns of Sheerness and Leysdown. For historic towns try Minster and Blue Town.
However, the island is probably best known for the Elmley Marshes RSPB nature reserve. The wet grassland attracts a wide variety of rare birds including peregrines and short-eared owls. |
