Weather forecast for the next 5 days for Folkestone, Kent

After Dover the other major port in south east Kent is Folkestone
Thousands of visitors visit each year without really knowing it for this is where the western terminus of the Channel Tunnel is situated.
Badly damaged during the Second World War, it has some pleasant beaches and has been a port since 1621.

Very much a seaside town, take a tour around the antique shops at Sandgate or visit the Battle of Britain Memorial, which marks the last major conflict to take place over British Soil.

Channel Tunnel
The Channel Tunnel provides a quick link between Folkestone and Calais in France and is a major engineering feat.
Opened in 1994, the idea of a tunnel linking the countries has been in the air for hundreds of years.

The idea has been controversial but 57 million people have travelled through the 50 kilometre tunnel since it opened.
Passengers can take the 35 minute Eurotrain or take the car and go by shuttle.
