For a better chance of soaking up the sunshine than most resorts in Britain, head for Eastbourne. Nestling in the shelter of Beachy Head, this is said to be one of the sunniest places in the country and a bit less manic than busy, bustling Brighton.
There's plenty to enjoy here - from the beauty spots of Beachy Head and the Eastbourne Downs to the glorious colours of the Carpet Gardens next to the Victorian pier.
There's also the usual amusements expected of a seaside resort as well as a miniature railway, crazy golf, go-karts and speedboat trips from the pier.
The only argument will be what to do next. |
