Burford is regarded as one of the gateways to the Cotswolds and has its fair share of the yellowy stone buildings which characterise that part of the world.

The main street is situated on a fairly steep hill but luckily there are plenty of individual shops - the perfect excuse for a stop.
Along with the antique stores, watch out for the beautiful Burford Woodcraft store at the top of the town which showcases work from more than 50 local craftsmen and women. Shops selling colourful casual clothing, handbags and even Peter Rabbit memorabilia are good to explore.

Away from the town, the kids will love Cotswold Wildlife Park, which looks after more than 200 types of animals, ants to zebras.
