English Isles
England's many islands offer the chance to explore different worlds without having to travel half the way round the globe.
For guaranteed good weather, bordering on the tropical make a bee-line for the Channel Islands - a breath of fresh air for British tourists who usually have to go abroad for sunshine.
It's a chance to really relax and immerse yourself in island life. Many don't allow cars which largely contributes to the unspoilt nature of these havens.
Guernsey and Jersey are anomalies- British but not part of the UK, not colonies and definitely not French. This is what makes them fascinating places. The mix of cultures, the legacies from invaders, the sheer beauty of the islands. A trip to the Channel Islands is unforgettable.
Closer to home, the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight are popular short break destinations, with their own quirkiness.
Or go tropical and head for the Scilly Isles, just 24 miles off the coast of Cornwall. Here you'll discover peaceful islands, some with less than 100 people living on them but all with welcoming smiles and, like at the private island of Tresco, the ability to  offer a truly stress-free holiday.
