Weather forecast for the next 5 days for Skegness, Lincolnshire
Skegness

Skegness - or Skeggie as most people would know it - has long been associated with family holidays and as a place to retire.

Right on the east coast (with traditionally drier weather) it thrives on its reputation as a friendly seaside resort, offering plenty of fun for all ages.

Many people remember it from family holidays when they were young. These days the facilities have been spruced up but it's still the place people will remember with affection.

There's 10 miles of beaches, the usual white knuckle rides, candy floss and nightclubs galore.
And at night the Skegness illuminations - not quite Blackpool but getting there - get better every year.
But because it's so flat, it's also proved popular with older folk, hence the mixture of families and the elderly.
Believe it or not there are some places in Skegness away from the all the fun of the fair atmosphere.

Gibraltar Point, managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, is a haven for birds and wildlife and the visitor centre is a good place to start before taking a walk round the area.
