The East
The counties of Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex which make up much of the East of England are gentle places to explore.
The medieval influence is everywhere, from the timber framed houses of pretty Lavenham in Suffolk to the Norwich, the capital of East Anglia.
Fairly flat, especially in Norfolk, this is an area where there's a mix of traditional seaside resorts,on the coast , with their piers and amusement arcades but also quieter areas with lavender filled fields and quiet fishing villages.
Essex stretches right down to the edge of London, with the mass expanse of Epping Forest and the ideal location for people wanting to get away from the capital.
